Darfoulds Nursery began as a plant nursery back in the 1960s and has grown since then to become regarded as one of the leading plant nurseries in the region. From our humble beginnings selling our produce at Worksop market to now, we have always worked hard to ensure that we produce great plants for fair and competitive prices.
At Darfoulds we stock a large variety of plants to suit all of your requirements and can even supply our very own grown vegetables. We grow much of our own stock so we know that they are the healthiest around, as we firmly believe in offering quality, and nothing else. It also means that there is no middle man.
Our cafe also offers an wonderful experience where you can enjoy a variety of homemade breakfast and lunch options as well as delicious cakes and sweet treats. We also host events in the cafe so keep an eye out on this website and our social media for when they are announced.
We are exceptionally proud of our reputation that we have worked so hard to build, and as a family business, you can always be sure of a friendly and reliable service at all times.

A Brief History of Darfoulds
Our garden centre has a rich history dating back to 1963, when the Thompson family purchased the original land and two neighbouring houses. In those early days, the site was used to grow vegetables such as leeks, potatoes, beetroot and cabbages, right where our car park and where the pond now stands. Back then we traded as Thompson Brothers Fruit and Vegetables, selling produce on Worksop market
As supermarkets began to change the way people shopped for fruit and veg, the focus gradually shifted towards ornamental gardening, and in 1980 the brothers decided to split and that’s when Darfoulds Garden Centre was born complete with the creation of our now much loved pond area. This was ran by John Thompson and his wife Mary.
Growth continued, and in 2010, the business was passed down to Benjy Thompson and his wife Mel, who took over and proudly opened our Coffee Shop with just four tables and a first-day takings of only £3.50. Since then, we’ve grown enormously and now welcome many more visitors each day, but we still hold onto those family roots that started it all.
